Go Pack, Go! Lambeau Field Stadium Tour Green Bay Packers – Honest Review
Are you wondering if the Lambeau Field Classic Stadium tour — the home of the Green Bay Packers, is worth it? I took this tour and I’ll give my honest opinion!
I’m from Minnesota — therefore, I am a Vikings fan. The Green Bay Packers are our arch nemesis. Never did I ever think I’d be showing up at the home of the green and gold to take a tour but hey, here we are!
We happened to be staying in the Green Bay Wisconsin area, as we were picking up our dog from training. Our hotel — the Springhill Suites by Marriott (read my review here) was located within walking distance to Lambeau Field, so being that we had a free afternoon, we decided to go on a stadium tour of Lambeau Field. When in Green Bay, THIS IS WHAT YOU DO. You tour Lambeau Field. So let’s get into it, shall we?

What different types of tours are there?
Lambeau Field offers three tiers of tours, each with various price points — the more you pay, the more you’ll see. Here is a chart from the official website where can compare tours. We did the cheapest tour — the “Classic.” So for this post, I’ll be sharing my experience with the “Classic” Lambeau Field stadium tour.
Lambeau Field Classic Tour – Quick Facts
Time needed: The tour is 55 minutes but you’ll want to arrive at least 10 minutes before your tour, if possible.
Parking: Free and plentiful
Cameras allowed? Yes! I brought my Sony Mirrorless camera, as well as my phone (of course).
Cost: Currently it’s $18 per person. $12 if you’re a Brown County resident.
Our experience
Although we were staying within pretty easy walking distance of the stadium, we chose to drive over to Lambeau Field. We had no issues finding a place to park.
It’s suggested that you book your tour time in advance, but we just showed up and bought tickets inside. We timed it right so that we had a tour starting within about 5 minutes. We visited in early June and even though it was the off-season, Lambeau Field was pretty busy — there were lots of people going on these stadium tours.
Before (or after) your tour, definitely check out the atrium area. We did this after our tour, as we arrived just in time. The atrium serves as the main gateway to the stadium, featuring a huge 50-foot replica of the Lombardi Trophy. You can’t miss this — you’ll see it as you go up the escalator towards the tour ticket booth. Throughout the space, you’ll also find numerous quotes and photographs of Vince Lombardi.
After you purchase your tickets (or check in, if you purchased online), you’re directed to a tour guide / sign station in the large atrium area. All three tiered tours are always going at the same time, and the ticket associate will inform you where to go.
Tour Highlights
Atrium: The tour starts out with introductions in the atrium and then you head out. Your guide will ask everyone where they’re from. Being that we are from Minnesota, of course the tour guide gave us a hard time, as we are Vikings fans! However, I had no idea the Green Bay Packers had such a following — we were the only (somewhat) local people on the tour; everyone else was from out-of-state and we even had a couple from Australia on our tour.
Throughout the tour, your guide will share interesting stories and historical insights about the team, the stadium and the legendary players. From Vince Lombardi’s coaching days to Aaron Rodgers’ incredible plays, you’ll learn a lot. It’s pretty interesting, even to a non-fan!
Executive Suites: Your first stop on the tour is to head into one of the private executive suites. As you are walking through the hallways to the suites, there are a ton of interesting Packers-themed artwork on the walls — take time to check some of them out – they’re really well done. Once inside the suite, you can see those fantastic views of the field and a taste of how the media and 1%’ers experience game days. The suite is absolutely MASSIVE and can hold 48 people.
Of course, the suites look down on all the other general seating areas — but one thing I never realized is that these seats are ALL METAL BLEACHERS! I had no idea they weren’t actual seats. I guess I’m never going to a Packers game; my back would be shot!
After the suites, you’re then lead down into the ‘bowels’ of the stadium. This is where the locker room/ players village is and it contains everything and anything the athletes could want. It’s not just a locker room, they have a fitness center, doctor’s office, lunch room, racquetball court, meeting rooms, etc. We couldn’t see any of this on the Classic tour. I believe you can see some of this –like the actual locker room — on the more expensive tours.
The Players’ Tunnel: Perhaps the most thrilling part of the tour is walking through the same tunnel that the players use on game day!
Stepping onto Lambeau Field: And the final stop on the tour is to actually step out onto the field. Well, not exactly as you can’t step on the grass, but you are on the grounds, on a track along the side of the field. Stepping onto the iconic football field, you can almost hear the cheering fans and feel the rush of game day excitement. Well, kinda. You’ll have to use your imagination! You’ll also get a good lesson on the grass used here — it’s a blend of Kentucky Bluegrass and turf and they use grow lights to keep the grass green well into January for the entire NFL season.
At the end of the tour, everyone has a chance to take photos on the field and then the guides had the entire tour group do the Lambeau cheer (Go Pack Go!) — you can hear it across the field!
And that’s a wrap – you’ll head back in the same way you came — through the Players’ Tunnel, and back up to the atrium.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame is an add-on you can purchase with your tour. We didn’t do this. I like football and everything but I’m not that big of a fan.
Visiting the Pro Shop
The Green Bay Packers Pro Shop is huge — they have everything Packers-related that you can think of — even those famous foam “Cheese Heads.”
Best Time to Visit Lambeau Field
While Lambeau Field tours are available year-round, the summer months offer the most pleasant weather conditions for enjoying the tour, as you will be outside on the field for a portion of the tour. During football season, I imagine that these tours do sell out. However, if you don’t mind the cold, a winter tour has a charm of its own, especially when the field is blanketed in snow, and lives up to its winter name, the “Frozen Tundra.”
Final Thoughts – Green Bay Packers Lambeau Field Tour
Hate the Packers or love them, either way, Lambeau Field is pure football magic and if you’re in the area, definitely hit this tour up! Even if you don’t like football, this is a great tour with tons of information — it’s a lot of fun! And it isn’t that expensive either – I definitely recommend this tour if you’re in the Green Bay area.
