Black Bear Inn Motel Review – Dubois, Wyoming
The Black Bear Inn Dubois, Wyoming is a family-run motel right along the side of the highway in this cute small town. And they boast of offering free s’mores nightly when you stay here.
Free s’mores, you say? Ok! Don’t have to ask me twice to book a room! Here’s my review of the Black Bear Inn in Dubois, Wyoming – a perfect stop if you’re en route to Yellowstone National Park or Grand Teton National Park.

Black Bear Inn – Dubois Wyoming – Location
Address:
505 W Ramshorn,
Dubois, WY 82513
As you can see, the Black Bear Inn is located right off the main drag in Dubois, so yes, you could walk everywhere if you wanted to. We’re lazy so we took the car when we went for dinner. This is a good stopping location if you’re en route to Yellowstone National Park or Grand Teton National Park, like we were.

Black Bear Inn – Details
Season: Black Bear Inn is a seasonal motel, operating from June to September.
Cost: We paid about $130 for one night. We stayed here for one night at the end of July. Despite the online sites saying they were fully booked, we took the chance to give them a call and sure enough, they had a room available! So if you want to stay here, don’t rely completely on the booking sites – give them a call (their website encourages this too).
Staff: So friendly! I was so happy with my stay here. I would definitely stay here again when in Dubois.
The Black Bear Inn is pet-friendly! Luke enjoyed his stay.
Breakfast: No breakfast available
Free Wifi – this is important because I had no cell data service while in Dubois (Verizon)

Rooms
Black Bear Inn in Dubois is a motorcourt-style motel, where you can park right outside your room. I know that some people don’t like that but I actually enjoy it – it makes loading and unloading so much easier – especially if you travel with a lot of shit like my sister and I do.
Our room was decorated in the woodsy-cabin aesthetic – totally appropriate for Wyoming! Love the decor, the room and bathroom was incredibly clean.

Amenities
While you’re not going to find a swimming pool, lounge or restaurant here, you will find a very peaceful setting, right next to the Wind River. This ‘backyard’ area offers a large firepit with chairs, a swing, some lawn games, as well as free s’mores. We definitely took advantage of this!
Luke also enjoyed roaming around the grounds, playing with his toy.
There is also a fly fishing guide service right on premises, so if you’re interested in giving that sport a shot, you can conveniently book an excursion right here. They also offer free fly fishing casting lessons each afternoon, so you might want to take advantage of that, if you’re into fishing.

Black Bear Inn – Dubois – Final Thoughts
This was one of the best places we stayed on our trip – and we booked it on a whim! The backyard area and free s’mores make this a fun experience in the summer – kind of like camping but having a roof over your head and a nice bed & bathroom. I would absolutely stay here again when in Dubois!
