Copper River Princess Wilderness Hotel is the best hotel in the area and surprisingly affordable. Copper River, Alaska is in the middle of nowhere and there isn’t much lodging to choose from here. Most of the other places in area are sketchy roadhouse-type lodging with shared bathrooms or really weird B&Bs.

I was hesitant on visiting Patrick’s Point State Park, knowing that we’d only spend maybe ~2 hours here at most, and then be on to the next spot. Over the years, I’ve stayed at countless KOAs throughout the country, and I have to say that this is hands-down the nicest I’ve been to!

In case you’re not familiar, KOA stands for Kampgrounds of America and it’s a franchise chain of campgrounds throughout the USA and parts of Canada. These campgrounds are very family-friendly and offer more amenities than your typical campground, and often have cabins, playgrounds, pools, WiFi and activities. They also have a reputation of being much more expensive than your typical campground.
