Best Western Cottontree Inn – Idaho Falls, Idaho Review

Idaho Falls, Idaho has two Best Western hotels – and they’re both close to each other and offer pretty much the same in terms of amenities and rates. There’s this hotel (the Cottontree Inn) and the other hotel, which is right along the Snake River Greenbelt walking trails – the Driftwood Inn. For this review, I’m focusing on the Best Western Cottontree Inn, but I have stayed at both hotels. I stayed here one night in the middle of September with my dog. Let’s begin the review!

Best Western Plus CottonTree Inn – Location

Best Western Plus CottonTree Inn is located near Interstate 15 and Highway 20, so it’s a good location for a one-night stop on a road trip, which is what I was doing. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is close to nearby restaurants – a few within walking distance.

If you’re looking to access the Greenbelt trails along the Snake River, this hotel is only about a block away from trail access, but it is not located on the banks of the river.

I booked a king room and found the room to be spacious and very clean, with modern decor.

I really liked the photography art on the walls – it appeared to be photos of the local area, but one photograph caught my eye – so much that I had to seek out its location so I could go photograph it myself.

Turns out, it was located in Forsyth, Montana, hundreds of miles away. I pinned its location on my Google Maps for future reference, and yes, I was able to photograph this myself later on.

Shower pressure was great in the bathroom. The room had a mini fridge and a microwave. My room had hard floors, but that might be because I was staying with my dog. Not sure if all rooms are like that or just the pet-friendly rooms.

Amenities at the Best Western Cottontree Inn – Idaho Falls

Free breakfast is offered and they have all your usual suspects for a free hotel breakfast including hot and cold items. The breakfast area is in a very large room with tons of seating. I thought the breakfast was really good – much, much better than your average breakfast. (just to note, the Best Western Driftwood Inn also has a great breakfast too!)

This hotel also offers an indoor pool, hot tub and a fitness center. I used the fitness center and the hot tub. The fitness center was small but nice – it’s in the same area as the pool and has windows that overlook the pool area. I thought the equipment, while a bit dated, worked well. The treadmill was steady enough for a 7 mile run.

The pool area reminded me of the ’80s but in a good way – I thought the ambiance was nice even though it was very dated! Both the pool and the fitness center are open 24 hours.

There is a small business center in case you need to print documents or use a desktop computer.

Best Western Cottontree Inn – Idaho Falls Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed my stay here and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The room was great, the breakfast was solid, the pool area was nice and even though it’s not directly on the Greenbelt, its location is perfectly fine.
